Dr. Mebane is an experienced clinical psychologist with a proven track record in providing mental health services to people in underserved communities suffering from dual diagnosis as well as people who recently became sober or ordered by the court to get treatment due to drug charges. For most of Dr. Mebane’s career, she has focused on a variety of treatment populations, specializing in individuals struggling with substance abuse and mental health disorders. Additionally, Dr. Mebane has extensive experience working with adults, parents, children, adolescents, members of the LGBTQAI community, as well as the Deaf/Hearing-impaired and the Deaf-Blind communities. Her treatment modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy, both of which have been effective in addressing a range of issues including relationship and communication problems. She strives to create a safe and supportive environment for her patients, and she works collaboratively with them to identify and achieve their treatment goals.
Over her career as a clinical psychologist, Dr. Mebane has provided dual diagnosis treatment, crisis intervention, intake assessments, individual, couples, group and family psychotherapy sessions, substance abuse assessments, supervision of unlicensed therapists, and recommendations for treatment. She has history of responding to emergency or crisis situations, such as officer-involved shootings, death of a deputy, suicide ideation or attempts, and serious injuries of deputies or their family members. In addition, Dr. Mebane has developed clinical programs, training programs, and mental health presentations for various organizations.
