Herb is considered one of the leading authorities on the homelessness issue in the country. Most recently served as President and CEO of the Los Angeles Mission from 2006 to 2019. Previously, Herb was CFO of the Los Angeles Mission from 1997-1999 and he also served on the Board of Directors from 2001 to 2019, including his role as Chairman of the Board of the Los Angeles Mission. Herb was also Chairman of the Board and Historian of City Gate Network for 9 years, North America’s oldest and largest community of independent, faith-based crisis shelters and life-transformation centers with over 300 homeless shelters and missions.
He is also currently Director of Advancement and a Senior Consultant to City Gate Network. Herb was also President of the LA Central Providers Collaborative and Member of the LASHA Continuum of Care Board and served on several HOA boards and the advisory board to Teen
Challenge Orange County.
